I've taken advanced Chinese classes in college and they've been alright (usually pretty easy for me). 杨老师 however has been able to take me to a whole new level. I was looking to be pushed in my chinese and I knew a group class just wouldn't do it (too easy, even advanced classes & the HSK). I needed something conversational, somewhere where I could train my muscle memory to use better, more refined and more accurate words. I've tried a few preply & italki teachers and we'd go on conversing and they'd tell me how good my chinese is, with the exception of a few weirdly placed words. I had remembered that something I had struggled with/was out of my comfort zone was my chinese debate class in college. For some reason being put on the spot made my brain stop working. hah. So I requested to do a debate class w/ 杨老师. I was super blown away at how professional, how helpful and how GOOD of a debater she was. After we would debate, she would go over unfamiliar words I didn't understand and the sentences that I had messed up on. Also, another helpful thing was that she would also go over words that I had used incorrectly, and better words to use instead. I know this review is long. But guys... I finally feel like there's hope for me to break my language plateau! XD So for you language learners out there, I'd totally recommend 杨老师. P/s... I also teach basic Chinese, so more respect to 杨老师 for how good of a teacher she is. There is much to learn...

Yang Lǎoshī is an excellent teacher and every lesson with her is very enjoyable and informative. I have been making a lot of progress with her help and I would be happy to recommend her to people who want to improve their Chinese.
