Hello! Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My name is Liyan, and I specialise in teaching Practical Chinese, HSK courses and Business Chinese. My teaching covers not only language learning, but also rich Chinese culture, such as cheongsam, dance and other interesting topics. In the classroom, I focus on practical application and encourage students to interact in Chinese to improve their language skills.

I started my career in international trade and was interested in different languages and cultures. After switching to teaching, I have continued to improve my teaching methods to help students not only cope with the HSK exam, but also acquire the language skills they need in real life. I offer tailor-made programmes for business people and Chinese language enthusiasts to ensure that they gain practical language knowledge along the way.

In my leisure time, I enjoy travelling and enjoying good food with friends. I am excited to share China's food, travel tips, and colourful cultural experiences.

I understand that learning a foreign language is hard work and I know what kind of problems students usually encounter when learning a language and how to learn it effectively. If you are just a beginner, don't worry, I will teach you step by step starting with pronunciation, and you can choose to learn Pinyin or Zhuyin and traditional or simplified characters. I can design a course for you according to your needs and your current level of Chinese. If you don't have a textbook, I will prepare materials for you.

If you are a businessman, you are also welcome to join my Chinese business course. I have been working in the business field for more than 7 years and I can share with you my views on Chinese culture and business style. In the classroom, I can speak in either English or Chinese, depending entirely on your requirements. Of course, I will gradually increase the use of more Chinese to create a more Chinese speaking environment for you.

What can I offer you?

In my classes, I will send you my teaching materials for you to practice after each lesson and give you simple homework assignments to improve your Chinese efficiently.
